How to Stay Positive When Life Feels Hard (Without Faking It)

If you’ve ever wondered how to stay positive when life feels hard, you’re not alone. I’ve been there too—questioning everything, watching bad things happen to good people, and wondering if this whole “manifestation” thing actually applies to the real world. Let’s be honest: I’ve never been the “love and light only” type. But I do believe in spiritual growth, in choosing to keep going, and in trusting that life is happening for me, even when it doesn’t make sense. That’s the version of manifestation I can get behind—the messy, real, fully human kind.
Don’t get me wrong—there’s beauty in working with positivity. But I’ve never lived in the “all is amazing” camp. I’ve experienced and witnessed some truly heavy things. Life can be brutal. And honestly, I agree with the Buddha: life is suffering.
(We’ll come back to the importance of that statement later.)
Still, I choose to believe that life unfolds exactly as I’m meant to experience it. Even when it’s hard. Even when it makes no sense. I choose to stay positive—not because everything is amazing—but because the alternative just isn’t worth it.
Let’s be real for a second:
So then... why stay positive?
The only answer that’s ever made sense to me came from a comedian:
“What other choice do you have?”
I choose to stay positive and surrender to a higher power because the alternative just isn’t worth it.
I think often about my last moments on this earth. (A little dark? Maybe. But stay with me.) I think about what I’d regret—not doing, not saying, not trying. Would I rather look back and regret all the hard stuff that happened to me? Or would I rather say:
“This is what I experienced.”
That’s the path I choose. To try. To fail. To succeed. To live.
Yeah, I’ve strayed from the topic a little—but here’s the thing:
Being “glass half full” doesn’t mean you ignore that the glass is half empty.
Nothing is black and white. Life isn’t an instant transition from light to dark—it’s a slow fade, like the sun setting over the horizon. Growth happens over time. Nothing is isolated. Everything flows.
And I believe the right people will find me.
They’ll get that I’m cheesy, goofy, weird—and they’ll choose to stick around anyway.

It’s got all my cringy, heartfelt fun. I’d love to grow and learn together.
Thanks for being here.
