When You Lose Your Rhythm — and Begin Again
Sabrina Caldera | DEC 29, 2025
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the ebb and flow of spirituality — how practice isn’t meant to be constant, linear, or perfect. And not long after sharing those words, I found myself lost again. Lost in life, in routine, and in my own practice. It’s been a while since I last posted, pinned, or even sat down to meditate.
I spent the holidays with family, carrying a familiar weight: the feeling that I hadn’t done enough this past year. This sense of falling short tends to surface for me around this time every year. And while I wish it didn’t, I’m slowly learning how to meet it with more awareness instead of letting it pull me further away from myself.
Lately, I’ve been practicing a simple reframe. When my mind slips into “I should have…” I try to soften it into “At least I did this much.” Some days, that still doesn’t feel like enough. But I’m learning — again and again — that movement in the right direction matters more than perfection. Growth doesn’t require constant momentum; sometimes it asks for patience, honesty, and rest.
I still spiral into old thoughts and familiar patterns. The difference now is that the spiral doesn’t last as long. The return to my practice — and to myself — comes a little sooner, with a little less shame. Over time, that return becomes part of the practice itself.
As this year comes to a close, I invite you to choose one part of your journey that feels unfinished, behind, or insufficient. Instead of judging it, see if you can gently reframe it with more compassion. What did you show up for, even imperfectly?
Be kind to yourself at the end of this year. This moment isn’t a failure or an ending — it’s simply the beginning of another season. Another year to continue your path of growth, healing, and remembering who you are beneath the noise, expectations, and conditioning of the world around you.
Sending love, even if we never meet or sit across from one another. I wish you peace, love, and moments of light — even when things feel dark or heavy.
